ENFORCE OUR CONTRACTS

Ask yourself: Have you ever not gotten paid your per diem – but didn’t report it because you were afraid to “make trouble”...?

ISSUE:
SAG-AFTRA is supposed to protect its members when production fails to meet safety, anti- harassment, compensation and other contractual obligations. When it comes to enforcement, too many times members are left to fend for themselves.

WHY IS THIS AN ISSUE?
There is a real threat of retribution and retaliation to performers who have to stand up on their own to assert their contractual rights.
It’s the Union’s duty to be our enforcer.

WHAT IS OUR SOLUTION?
We have to fix the disconnect between what our employers are getting away with and our Union, whose job it is to protect us.

Provide education for members to ensure they know their contractual rights and how to safely report violations without the fear of retribution and with the assurance of union support.

MembershipFirst will empower our staff to be aggressive in enforcing our contracts knowing they have a new, strong leadership supporting them. We will work to increase penalties and improve our members’ ability to safely report violations of any kind.
